Maybe that’s why even today, something still drives us to travel and discover what’s around the next bend or over the next hill. It’s a yearning that’s as American as the Old West, itself… an inherent desire to grow, learn, accomplish and live life to the fullest.

For the early pioneers headed west, knowing what lie ahead was more than a curiosity - that knowledge could easily mean the difference between life and death and success or failure. Early western travelers often used guidebooks outlining where to find water, grass, fuel for fires, wild game, river crossings, and other necessities.
