Roughly 16 months ago we spoke with both Doug Hansen at Hansen Wheel and Wagon Shop as well as the Stoughton Trailer Company about the restoration of a pre-1900 Stoughton wagon. This was all part of a multi-faceted project involving the development of a new headquarters building for Stoughton Trailers. The construction of the 53,000 square foot facility is coming along nicely and the good folks at Stoughton recently posted a Facebook update about their progress. The 182-acre property will include approximately 36 acres of ponds, prairie, and wetlands as well as a 28-acre community park designed for a wealth of community activities.

It shouldn't be long before we have more we can share about the wagon and the company's historical tribute. In the meantime, we thought we'd pass along Stoughton's recent social media post...

I've seen this extraordinary set of wheels in person and it is truly impressive. Doug Hansen and his team at Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop did a remarkable job capturing the head-turning nature of this 19th century machine. We were honored to assist with restoration consultation, rare imagery, and a historical overview of the brand. After 160 years, Stoughton continues its legacy of leadership with quality, performance, innovation, and amazing people still defining the heart of this transportation icon.

Stay tuned for more info this week... we'll be sharing another intriguing story and incredibly rare photo related to a legendary maker from the "Gateway to the West!"
